Project: Hazardous Area Processing Facility
Description:

Design, construct and commission a bunded building and processes used in the production of military-grade ammunition propellant.


Project & Design Requirements:

• Transformation of Greenfield site
• Minimisation of environmental impacts
• Access roads and drainage design
• Building and concrete slab design and construction
• Design of services including power, water, dust extraction and air
• Ultra-high speed fire deluge system
• Electrical works, static earthing and lightning prevention
• Explosive hazards and intrinsically safe design
• Ergonomic and HAZOP analyses
• Full compliance with OH&S legislative requirements

SPEC Group Input:

• Sub contactor tendering and selection
• Full responsibility for all project, design and construction management services
• Ad-hoc design and resolutions for economical construction methods
• Preparation of project schedules and construction budgets
• Continuous liaison and consultation between all contractors and client
• Concept development, design and detailing
• Provision of ongoing and continuous engineering support for all construction activities
• Site measurement and survey
• Quality assurance of works including hazardous zone intrinsic safety
• Carry out engineering checks of proposed system
• Drafting and detailing for structural and mechanical fabrication and manufacture.
• Electrical design and installation works within explosive hazardous area
• Risk identification and HAZOP analyses
